Considering the evolving COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation, I wanted to personally update you, to ensure you’re informed on our response.</FONT></SPAN></P> <P><SPAN><FONT style="font-size: 19px;">COVID-19 is a respiratory illness caused by a novel (new) virus, and we are learning more about it every day. There is currently no vaccine to protect against COVID-19. At this point, the best way to prevent infection is to avoid being exposed to the virus that causes it. Institutions of higher education (IHE) play an important role in this effort. Through collaboration and coordination with local health departments, EMETSEEI will disseminate information about the disease and its potential transmission to our students, staff, and faculty. EMETSEEI is prepared to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among their students, staff, and faculty as local health officials identify such needs.</FONT></SPAN></P> <P><EM><SPAN><FONT style="font-size: 19px;">For the safety of our students, staff and visitors effective Wednesday 18 March 2020 we will conduct business as usual Mon-Friday 0900-1700 for staff.</FONT></SPAN></EM></P> <P><EM><SPAN><FONT style="font-size: 19px;">Our current EMT classes will be following these interim protective measures.</FONT></SPAN></EM> <EM><SPAN><FONT style="font-size: 19px;">All students shall continue their course work from home and follow their current syllabus as if they were in the classroom.</FONT></SPAN></EM></P> <UL> <LI><EM><SPAN><FONT style="font-size: 19px;"><SPAN>1)<SPAN><FONT style="font-size: 9px;" face="Times New Roman"> </FONT></SPAN></SPAN></FONT></SPAN></EM> <EM><SPAN><FONT style="font-size: 19px;">Labs time will be suspended until we resume our regular scheduled class format.
